Is this another wake up call. Read my post about the budget. Dam it we are broke. Even if you have the money teams will not play you at home.
Do you want to play UT again? Then we better get into the NCAA or go on the road and play them.
What gets me is many of you ask questions just to ask questions. You already know the answer. You don't have to be a CPA to figure this stuff out.
Being BCS in football is not stopping our basket ball team. If you sell all 12k seats they sell all 22k seats for MORE MONEY! Guess who gets the home game?
You guys are going to drive me to drink.

Thats disappointing to read. Its a little exciting that teams are scared of us (4 or 5 different teams refusing to renew or sign on this year), but the fact that were missing out on so many solid games because of that is sad. Is there any word on us locking up a home-home with Utah St.? There was some noise about that on here a while back... Kudos to Fisher for his efforts towards putting together a tough OOC schedule this year, he has really worked his butt off. Scared of us, that's laughable. We're not that dominant. Other good MWC teams manage to schedule a bunch of decent teams without a fear factor. Has it ever occurred to you that maybe our administration is sabotaging Fisher out of his deserved funds and doling it out elsewhere? Never underestimate the stupidity of our administration, preventing our major sports programs from reaching the upper tier. I thought they finally got serious about spending money in the right places after nearly 40 years. Same $#!+, different day I guess.

All I can say is......Aztec fans wanted a tougher schedule. We got it. Well guess we'll be tournament tested then won't we. Yes we will and it should make us very tough for conf.

It's that a team won't get the credit they deserve for beating us, and there is a good chance they will lose. So why take the risk?

The Commie Bastards are out to screw Fisher! Filthy saboteurs! Brilliant.

When we were pretty good or expected to compete regionally, fisher wasn't taking on tough road games or trying to get some 2 for 1s or building relationships, we were seeing lousy teams at home. Then, he has a team that not only might compete regionally, but nationally as well. Of course it is going to be hard to drastically upgrade the schedule when you're supposed to be a top 20 team, he should have started the process half a dozen years or so and maybe instead of winning 26 or 24 games we would have won 22 or 23. It is like Boise, was boise actively trying to get good teams and negotiate contracts when they were on the rise or did that just start when they had arrived and had to compete with TCU and Utah and Hawaii a few years back for the BCS slot?
And if more than 6500 people averaged half a dozen years ago, and if more than 6500 people came out for the cupcakes now, we could offer more for our purchased games

You don't have to be a CPA to figure this stuff out. What we need is more donations from the alumni. That is the surest way to increase our revenues so we are not broke. It would interesting to know how many people on this board actually donate. I bet it is smaller than most people would think. In bad times, we need the core supporters to step up more. Unfortunately, that is when we need the true fans the most. Once we start winning, the bandwagon will be filled. But SDSU needs the help now.

The key is not just to be battled tested, but to win most of those battles. Under Fisher we have tended to get better, sometimes a lot better, as the season progresses. This year we need to be ready from the get go.

what does the pre season, look like for UNLV , BYU , and UNM

UNLV has a very tough OOC schedule including matchups with ... at Louisville, at Kansas St, at Nevada, Wisconsin and a tourney that includes DePaul, Oklahoma State, Stanford, Tulsa and Virginia Tech BYU plays ... in tournaments that include St Marys, Texas Tech, South Florida, and most likely plays Utah St, UTEP
NM ... not sure if it's out yet but they had a tough schedule last year which led to their high early ranking and Alford doesn't seem like he will duck anyone. They had a lot of home games last year which might mean more roadies ending their home and homes series against teams like Tex Tech and California this year.
