The first week of the San Diego Section brought Punahou of Hawaii to Vista, and they have one player who will likely get a lot of attention...
Deforest Buckner
The guy looks like a man among boys. He's big, strong, and fairly quick.

We have a snowball's chance in hell. So you're saying we have a chance. I'll tell you what, without this guy Punahou loses to Vista, and pretty decisively. He's a one man defense. He's a game changer.

He's a game changer. 8 Pac-12 offers and we're not even on his radar. I'll take back that snowball and give us a rain drop. But who knows what the future holds. He could probably skip college and enter the 2012 NFL draft with his size.

I went to the Paloma Valley VS West Valley game in Menifee tonight and there was one player that I really liked - and if he were just two inches taller I'd say he would make a great recruit for the Aztecs.
David Solis, who had 145 yards on 14 carries, scored three touchdowns (including a 60-yarder) and played like a stud. He's got good speed (not world class speed, but good), and he's got a great center of balance and is strong. He's not easy to tackle. He's a tough guy running back with shifty guy running back speed. He's also a darned good linebacker.
Unfortunately, he looks to be about 5'6" or 5'7", so he's a bit small for D1, but not too small to have an impact (hell, remember how small Maurice Drew is, he made it all the way to the NFL, and there were Little Train James and a few others, too).
Who knows? He'd need to put on another 10 or 15 pounds to take the beating he'd get at D1, but his frame could definitely handle that without losing speed.
