I moved out to Austin about a year ago from SD. I live right next to lake Travis High which has won the Texas 4A State title the last two year. Is there any program to help Hoke and Co. to identify talent in talent rich Austin area?

No. But you could be a start. Just e-mail the info to mcowan@mail.sdsu.edu (I'm not certain that this address is good.)Hang in there, Matt

And be very careful about contacting HS students directly. Based on NCAA regs, most of us on AztecMesa could be considered representatives of the Univ. That could constitute illegal recruiting. And you don't even have to offer the kid an ice cream cone to cause trouble.

Thanks. I figure that there are a lot of extremely passionate alums across the country and if we could help the coaches by pointing them to talent in other areas outside of CA. Maybe just maybe we can find another Marshall Faulk or diamond in the rough to help us get over the top.

I say nowadays with the communication means available, those hidden gems are rare. They know who's out there so the concentration now is to sell the player on the school more than anything else.
