Urgent action is needed to disband our military. Turn it into a self defense force only. Limit its size to no greater than the size of the Mexican Army and return this country to a sensible global policy of isolationism for everything but trade.

I know it will add millions to the unemployment numbers, but the Government can lie like hell about that and convince us that it just is not happening.

Eisenhower killed that and engulfed us in a perpetual state of war with an army and munitions of standing-reserve that must be dispatched, stationed, extinguished and replenished.

We need to reform our thinking and revise our plan.
Time for America to be reborn.

With federal budget deficits growing out of control, the U.S. military is likely to be a favorite area for cutbacks. And that might happen no matter who controls the federal government.
There are, of course, areas where we could cut right now. How about bringing home those 38,000 troops from S. Korea? Also, how about giving up the idea that we should have as a priority American domination of the western Pacific? I'm sure China would be willing to take our place.
Cutbacks may be necessary and logical, but there are always consequences to such a policy. Some of those consequences may be both unintended and disadvantageous to this country's interests.

I agree. There is no place in the military for bands. Yoda out... Actually, that is one part of the Military I think we should keep. Military bands could march in our various parades on national holidays. Wouldn't it be great if somebody mentioned the word "military" and all people could think of would be a military band playing a John Phillips Sousa march?

It is time to do away with Wars and Warfare. In the Sixties, my generation had a rallying cry, "Suppose they gave a War and Nobody Came?"
That cry still has validity today. It is time for the United States to stop being the world's policeman. If the other nations of the world want to play WAR, they can do it without us.
AMEN!

Long as they don't tell! And swallow the music! I don't think you two should be posting about your sexual preferences on this Political Board. It would probably be better for you to post on the Off Topic board. Right? Of Course Right!
