Seems fair enough.

Ditto. Either that, or the last 8 at-large teams for the play-in games. Would have been okay with either format.

Ditto. Either that, or the last 8 at-large teams for the play-in games. Would have been okay with either format. The 2008-2009 season may have seen SDSU and St Mary's in one of those games instead of the 3rd round of the NIT.
I could see SDSU hearing on Sunday they have to be in Dayton on Tuesday and if they win Florida on Thursday to play a team that travels an hour to get there. That would be worse than 4 days to get to Rhode Island.
Overall I like it. It is the best solution. The 2 last 4 in games will be great. Currently the NCAA doesn't match like teams until late in the process. Bracketology will now talk about the last 4 out, the last 4 way in, and the last 4 almost in.
