I have a friend named John Gut (Goot). He moved to my NoCal hometown from the LA area.....Big baseball fan and claimed to be a Dodger fan. The little town I lived in was all Giant fans (except for me and a couple of others). Gut soon proved he was a follower instead of a leader and claimed he had changed to a Giant fan. Not possible and my friends and I called him on it. Of course we are all still good friends......But...What a joke.

My brothers-in-law (4 of them) are Dodgers fans, grew up in LA area in 50's -70's, and their dad came here in the 50's from Brooklyn.
One of them lives in the Bay area now and said something, after a few drinks, about starting to follow the Giants. It was honestly like a betrayal to the other three. It almost came to blows. He has repented and recanted, but the brothers have not felt the same about him since.
Mortal sin?
