Interesting! Even when you look at how some questions are asked in a manner meant to draw a certain response the study is interesting.
One thing that can't be gleaned from this is how many respondents were actual tax payers. It is easy to advocate taxes on other people.
I am pleasantly surprised at what Jerry Brown is doing or trying to do. The surprise is that he is smart enough to see what has to be done and is going against his own basic instincts and beliefs.
From the make up of the survey, and the other unknowns, I would not draw the same conclusion that you seem to have, but I would not oppose some targeted tax if I thought it would help.
