Not enough gold! I would like to see some gold domes, black unis with red accents. Of course we keep the old school look for the throw-back special games.

I will probably get flamed for being a pedantic prig, but here goes anyway. SDSU's colors are SCARLET and Black. Red is for schools such as . . . pardon the expression . . . Fresno State!
There are, to be sure, many shades of red. The color of Cornell University, though they call themselves The Big Red, is officially carnelian. New Mexico's colors are cherry and silver.
You gotta be true to your school. In the case of our school, we have a color scheme much more distinctive than that of the truck stop up the 99 that wishes it were a university!

Red just has more energy than black. Like a piece of charcoal. Black is unused charcoal with no fire. Red when it's hot. I want red hot energy in the stands and on the field.

Red is overused in college and therefore is boring. Black is tough. Black is intimidating. Black is power. Black is the Dark Side.

You would not know this, but I lived many of my early years in Denver Bronco territory and I have lived 26 years in San Diego. I doubt anyone hates the Raiders as much as me, the double Raider-Hater. The Raiders are as much silver as black. They are not the Dark side like our Aztecs.

+6 However, what is wrong with both? Red for some games & Black for Utah, Vegas & UNM! BTW, last year was the 1st the "Team" shirt was black. I mean the one that comes with season tickets, so what's the big deal?

As a proponent of black and gold, I will admit that a crowd full of predominantly black-wearing folks in a stadium/arena looks more hidden and understated than it does tough and/or proud.
Still, there's enough red in college sports. Black is far more unique. The only other team I can think of that uses black/gold/red is Florida State.

Florida State is a joke now though, although Maryland uses a variation of the color scheme black, gold, and red to perfection. SDSU needs to adopt that same system so when we get on ESPN this year as a BCS Sleeper, we can do it in style.
