Bottom line is the better your OL the better you can execute any offense be it spread, pro style, flexbone, run and shoot etc. I'm hoping the JC guys are an upgrade to the talent along the OL and that we see real improvement in terms of our offensive production this year. I would find it hard to believe that group was brought here to sit on the bench. I know the staff is REAL HIGH on one of the JC OLineman coming in. I think they really like the other two also, but I am sure one of them will start.

I would find it hard to believe that group was brought here to sit on the bench. Seriously, they brought in two tackles and an interior lineman for a reason, and not depth. They are going to have to stink up the field not to start this year. I think the JC Olineman were brought in to start AND for depth. I don't think there is anyway all 3 of them start. I want the best 5 to start, but it is all about the 2 deep. Bringing in the 3 JC Olineman makes our 2 deep look fairly good.

I would imagine that the O-Line would look like this next year:
RT: Bolanos RG: Embernate C: Iosefa LG: Gauld LT: Unga
I think they will start out slow and start to gel before Mtn West Play.

I agree, though I'd switch Gauld and Embernate. Embernate did quite nicely as a RG last year, especially for a Frosh.

This is what I think it will be:
RT - Bolanos (wouldnt you think he should be a blindside tackle?) RG - Embernate C - Trask LG - Guald/Quinones LT - Draheim/gunther/farr

Everything I've heard about Bolanos is good. Kid should make an immediate impact this season.

I think we're going to have a tailback by committee this year I hope not. I tend to view it like I view QB's---if you have three, you don't really have any. Hopefully one of these guys will separate himself as a real DI back. Depends on the talent level. If you have Ronnie Brown and Cadillac Williams the RB by committee thing works. Hillman may not be an every down type of guy, but could present match up problems when he comes in. I hope Williams or Muema steps up because they have the frame to carry the load a bit more than Hillman, unless he's packed on some lbs.

No, quinones was our starting guard last year. He never played tackle. and I didnt forget about matamua. i left him out for a reason. He is our worst offensive lineman without a doubt.

I do think bolanos should be a blind side tackle (LT)

I said that he was listed on the spring depth at RT at one point. It looks like now he is listed at RG. Last year he split time with A. Johnson at LG and he is now at center. Of course, all that doesn't matter once fall practice begins.

Good to know. I hoped that was a misprint. Is A. Johnson going to part of the mix at guard, or strictly a backup at center?
