I'll start this by saying I didn't watch the beginning of it but.... He showed a very good sense of knowing the strike zone with his two key walks. He's got a helluva hack when he sees the ball/strike count in his favor. It seemed on a couple swing/misses that he was planning to swing and swing hard before he saw the pitch. Nice whack to left center. Pitcher Hernandez thought it was gone. I like the kid after 1 game. Going tonight to see what he does in person. Margarita night might make my vision fuzzy though.

Some guys just have "the swing" if you know what I mean. Players like Will Clark, John Olerud come to my mind. There swing was just plain pretty to watch.
Rizzo has that type of swing in my opinion. Actually, he and Hosmer from KC both have that type of swing. Just athing of beauty to watch.
I like Rizzo's response last night to Mudcat's question of his thought process when the count got to 3-1 on his third AB. Mudcat said he like the "rip" Rizzo took on that particular pitch, even though he missed it, and then took ball four on the next pitch.
Rizzo's response was and I'm paraphrasing, "3-1 is a hitters count, I took a good hard swing at it and missed, next pitch I had to be patient and make sure it was a strike before swinging."
Love the attitude and approach at the plate of the kid, so far.

It's only been one game, but he looked really comfortable for his first game. He actually reminds you of Adrain a bit with that smooth swing. Good eye as well plus a real likeable kid.

Was excited to see him have a triple though. How is his foot speed and was it a stand up triple? Will Clark had one of the nicest swings I've seen. Let's hope Rizzo will be as good.

Na he had to slide considering the throw was coming from Rick Ankiel who has a cannon. The throw was slighty off and he slide in feet first. He seemed pretty quick for a 1b I believe he had 5 or 6 sb in triple A

ESPN and MLB network showed how he was slyly checking out the catcher's positioning before each pitch. that'll have to stop or he's gonna get a ball in the back pretty soon.
