Libtard site. Won't waste the time. Then try reading, "The Republican Noise Machine" -- subtitled: Right-Wing Media and How it Corrupts Democracy". It's written by a former conservative insider. I've never actually read it myself -- it's among the seemingly hundreds of books that I bought "meaning to read but never got around to it". Nevertheless, I suggest that it touches on the same topic -- and it's not written by a "libtard" -- whatever the hell that is. Yoda out... .

Yoda out and about the Internet Message boards there are four type of tards. They are Retards, Libtards, Contards and Fuktards. Fuk means the other four letter word, but since Fukushima has Fuked the entire globe, the three letter word has taken the place of the four letter word. Four letters are somehow extremely offensive to sensitive ears while three letters are not. Sort of like $#!+ is extremely offensive and Excrement is not. As best I can figure the people who are sensitive have an extreme dislike of four letter words like those mentioned above and words like crap and piss and dick and **** and stuff like that. But that is another issue. A Retard is just someone who is not too bright. A Libtard is someone who can only see things through liberal spectacles. They cannot see any conservative justification for anything. A Contard is someone who can only see things through conservative spectacles. Sometimes they are called Nazies, Facists, untra Conservatives and other less spectacular names. Now, a Fuktard is somebody who has the judgment and discernment of a protozoa and usually all they do is post nonsense to a message board. About one out of every ten people who post are Fuktards. For the most part, the Pathological Liars Clique qualifies as the Fuktards on this board. They do it with pride and malice aforethought. Their effort is the only documented instance in the Message Board posting in the United States where a bunch of Fuktards got together and were organized in their posting. Psychologists around the world are waiting to see if it happens anywhere else in the world. They have been waiting for a long time.

Shameless left wing lies get a pass, apparently. Stu, feel free to post a link. Should we start with Weiner? John Edwards? Those two are in the news today. Shall I continue? I will comment about my former Senator, Mr Edwards. Here is a guy, paying a cool million of unreported funds to shelter his lover and love-child while propping his cancer stricken wife on the Presidential election circuit for what reason? Family values and commitment to his wife. Yeah, only republicans are shameless liars.

I mean, seriously; you recommend a source you admit you haven't had the time to read, and offer it as a foil. Do you even have a clue as to how that reinforces how transparently phony your protestations of being a "moderate" are? Is that what "moderates" do? At least the moonbat libtards on here are up front about their positions. You, on the other hand... Hey, maybe grandma can tell you what the book has to say. Let us know.

I mean, seriously; you recommend a source you admit you haven't had the time to read, and offer it as a foil. I didn't offer it as a foil. I was just noting that there are things you can read on the topic that were written by someone other than the "libtards". I don't care if you read or respond to the topic; I'm not trying to engage you. There is another book on that same unread shelf called "The politics of lying" -- an old book, as I recall. I don't know what side of the political spectrum the author writes from, if any. I think the topic is interesting and I look forward to retirement. Yoda out... .

I noticed that in the linked article, a number of the incidents cited came under Democrat rule. Gulf of Tonkin in particular.
But I would like to comment on the Tet Offensive. Based on my armchair general knowledge of history, it seems to me that the Tet Offensive was a last throw of the dice by the Viet Cong. A bit like the Ardennes offensive by the Germans in December, 1944. That's the Battle of the Bulge, of course. The Germans, after inflicting lots of damage on the Allies, failed in that attempt and they were basically finished after that.
Now imagine if there had been network TV in everyone's home in December, 1944 and 1968-style reporters were sending images of the brave and outnumbered 101st Airborne Division soldiers trying to hold off the attacks by the German Panzers. I can just imagine the reports: "This is horrible, folks, US soldiers freezing and dying. They may surrender at any moment. After years of fighting we are in an unwinnable quagmire!" The fact is that, even if the Germans had gone all the way to Antwerp, the Allies would not have lost the war. But anyone looking at 1968-style reports from Bastogne might well have have thought that our chances in the war were not too good. (Similar TV reports from the Civil War front in the Summer of 1864 would also have made the North's cause look very doubtful.)
The fact is that the Tet Offensive, even more than the Battle of the Bulge, was a big victory for the Americans. (The Viet Cong were pretty much finished after that and the North Vietnamese then stepped up their participation.) However, it was portrayed by the press here as a defeat.
