If we don't trade Bell, he will be a type "A" free agent. That means we get the first round draft pick from the signing team and a sandwich pick. So whatever we get in exchange must be worth more than two top draft picks. Draft picks for baseball aren't the same as for the NFL or even NBA. It's a huge crap shoot that takes years for a team to benefit from them. That is why their farm system is on the verge of really starting to supply the major league team with year after year of quality players. "AA" team is now 53-22. They score the most in the league and have leauges best ERA.
