Aztec Hoopers Staying Busy this Summer

Was bored so figured Id try to find out what some of the team was doing this summer. Surprised to not find Billy White in one of the big summer leagues (Drew League, Say No Classic, etc) although I may have just missed him somewhere.

Looks like Kawhi is focusing on his ball-handling and outside shooting this summer...He attended the Chris Paul Elite Guard Camp last month with other guards and wings from around the country.

Johnson-Odom heads back to his native North Carolina this weekend to take part in the third annual Chris Paul Elite Guard Camp in Winston-Salem. The camp features the top 30 high school guards (15 nationally and 15 from Paul's home state of North Carolina) and 15 of the elite college guards.

Of the 15 collegiate players at the camp, six play at BIG EAST Conference programs.

I heard Malcolm Thomas was playing in the L.A. Drew League again this summer... very competitive Pro-Am league. He is on the Blazers, playing with Tyrone Shelley and Jeremy Tyler. Another notable player is Brandon Heath, playing for Da Fam, and lighting it up on some nights. He earned player of the week honors a couple weeks ago.

Thanks for the good info aztec17. Speaking of Billy White, he needs to be working on his shot this summer. If he has any chance at the next level, he has to develop a mid range jumper.

his length and athleticism, I'm sure he'll get a chance overseas. I just hope for some durability from Billy this year.

I ran into the entire over 21 crew at Fluxx Nightclub on Saturday night. They had the bottle table next to us...they were all very much in control and friendly. Place was going off - good group of guys.

Where would he play in the NBA? He's nowhere near strong enough to play 4 and do you think he could guard an NBA wing player?
Billy will get some nice opportunities overseas and will go down as a great, 4 year starting Aztec (Billy and DJ will fight it out to see who ends up with the most starts in the history of the program).

looks like we are going to have a stronger schedule in the preseason, with some tough road games , does some one have what some of the other players are doing to keep fit during the summer

Got to remember that most athletes need to take summer school classes in order to remain on schedule to graduate so understandable if not much time for summer leagues. Summer classes are 6-weeks long and most meet 4 days a week so unless games take place nearby and on weekends, many can't attend.
