Kyle Blanks is now down to 255 pounds. He tipped the scales at 300 at one point in his Padres career. According to a Baseball America article, he is playing defense in the outfield much better, he is much quicker. His feet are giving him no problems. Tucson Padre Fans must have been disappointed when Rizzo was promoted but Blanks, who replaced Rizzo on Tucson, has been better. Stats at Tucson 2011Player - BA OBP SLG OPSRizzo- .365 .444 .715 1.159 Blanks .382 .462 .779 1.241 Rizzo is a better long term prospect because he is 3 years younger.

He is now batting .397.
The San Francisco farm team, Fresno, played a 4 game series at Tucson. The Tucson Padres swept them behind great hitting by Blanks.
6-14 .429 2 Doubles, 2 Home Runs, 6 Walks, 6 RBI, 7 Runs.
That is a lot of stats for a 4 game series.
Kyle Blanks in 82 PA .397 .463 .822 1.285
Oh My. Tucson fans are forgetting Rizzo fast.
