What recovery? There is certainly less work out there in my field and over half of SD County's Music Educators just got pink slipped. Yeah, nice recovery The path the current administration has taken is not working. Obama used to reference the "failed policies of the Bush Administration" on a daily basis, the truth is that he needs to look in the mirror and face facts that he has been even worse.

If the GOP has their way we will certainly have a double dip recession. They have done all the can to make sure we fail as a nation so they can win an election.

Survival of the Arts is about patronage, at least the Republicans know how to make money, instead of simply spending it without any significant benefit.

I see Obama in a landslide. There are no Republican candidates that are worth as much as a wet fart.

Do you really think a Republican in the White House will lead to more jobs for music teachers? Figure it out - Republicans don't give a rat's ass about arts. Christ, I really do not understand how you cannot recognize that the right-wing doesn't give a $#!+ about arts. =Bob

Yea, who would have thunk.... the Republicans on the way to save the arts! Survival of the Arts is about patronage, at least the Republicans know how to make money, instead of simply spending it without any significant benefit. Unfortunately, making money does not translate into giving money to the arts, particularly when it comes to your admittedly brilliant but rather progressive brand of jazz. Sorry, but I would bet you that liberals like me are more likely to appreciate your music than the old fart conservatives you think you should rely upon. Beyond that, music is not ideological unless one assumes "patronage". But let's face a simple fact here - the rich support symphonies and operas - in general they don't support jazz and for the most part they don't support high school music programs. I will never approach your musical ability but from my earliest days I listened to my grand mother playing the stand up piano given to her by her aunt in the 1890s - my cousin still has that piano and some of my earliest memories are of her playing and wanting to play as well. I love music but the assumption that a musician should support this or that ideology in the hope that the right or the left will contribute more bucks is nonsense. Those of us who love and understand music take support wherever it comes from and making music ideological completely detracts from the joy music brings us. =Bob
