This gives the nut case conservatives, and we sure have a lot, the opening to say that bin Laden is not dead, that this was just a charade for political reasons. I will be waiting for the usual suspects to start up.  |

Us nut case conservatives are happy to give the credit to the intelligene community and counter-terrorism forces as they deserve it. Frankly, having a body around is a problem, worse yet if they captured him alive. This is the best possible alternative. They have DNA, they will confirm it. Be happy Ed. |

I have not heard anyone, regardless of political affiliation, who has not praised the President as well as the intelligence and military forces who contributed to the success of this mission.
One thing that is important to remember is that, for the most part, the nasty things coming from the Right are from marginal people who are not part of the Republican establishment. The same is not always true of the Left. Do you remember when Sen.Kennedy compared the bad behavior of a few U.S. soldiers at Abu Greb prison to what Saddam had done in that same prison?
Prisoners were humiliated by our people but tortured and murdered under Saddam. Kennedy's charge was a spurious and cheap shot taken for obvious political reasons. Not only was it an embarrassment, it no doubt gave aid and comfort to the people we were fighting.

It is very hard to not be overjoyed that Osama was killed and disposed of at sea after confirming his identity. When Obama does something right with the help of the CIA and the Seals, just accept the good will without trying to start more of your cheap-shot baloney. Obama did a good job and even appeared Presidential with his announcement.

Seriously, I am glad that they treated his body per Muslim tradition. We are still in a battle for the hearts and minds of those in the middle and there is no good that comes from alienating moderate Muslims.
As for proof, we have DNA, pictures and most likely a lot of Muslim witnesses, including at least one cleric.
