As if Obama spent the night wondering if he should grant citizenship for these people. This was done by some government bureaucrat following the rules set up for this process. Only an idiot would think that Obama had anything to do with approving their citizenship.

This is coming from a retired federal bureaucrat? That is funny. ;D

You would not laugh if you had seen or could remember some of the crap we were fed under LBJ and SecDef McNamara.

Thanks for agreeing with us "lefties" that Vietnam was a total waste of 52K lives. =Bob It lasted years longer than it should have and we left a lot of good men there, but it was LBJ, McNamara and Westmoreland that kept the country in the dark and refused to let us prosecute the war in a manner that would bring it to and end. Lefties are usually a big part of any problem and very rarely part of any solution. That was the case then and is even more-so now. Of course Defense Contractors made tons of money, but it was all based on leftie reluctance to win it.

The Vietnamese had been fighting colonialism for a very long time and there was nothing we could have down short of nuking Hanoi that would have stopped them. The logic you offer is the logic that kept us there for so long. If we look at what's happened since '75, it's clear Vietnam would become a client state of U.S. corporations sooner or later and a lot of American and Vietnamese lives would have been spared if LBJ had just decided to leave. =Bob

Only one "s" in misinformed. But that aside, I'm sure you came to understand everything about Vietnamese history while you working in whatever supply depot you were managing in Vietnam. =Bob

My uncle was colonel in the Marines and headed upa unit in Vietnam. He was so fed up with Washington manipulating the war that he resigned. They were re-taking the same targets over again, and couldn't go after a new target without DC approving it.The politicians are to blame for all the lives lost in that war. If they would have let the military do it's job a lot less lives would have been lost.
It was still a stupid war anyway.

We were dropping 500 pounders on bike riders on the Ho Chi Minh Trail instead of easily identifiable targets in Haiphong and Hanoi. You know absolutely nothing about what went on. How could you when you were protesting in some drug induced stupor? There is now a new spelling for "miss-informed".
