LA- What do you like about DirectTV? Another friend of mine has it and really enjoys it, especially during NFL Season.

Direct TV is awesome - also has great pricing, particularly with new clients. Great bundle options, etc. I moved to LA this year and had to have Aztecs coverage, joined Direct TV and wish I had done it two years ago. Great customer service as well. Having my lowly Padres on there will be a welcomed addition, especially being out of town and out of the loop these days when it comes to Padres baseball. LA- What do you like about DirectTV? Heard on KPBS this morning that your lowly Padres (mine too) had the highest profit in MLB last year. =Bob

You can basically get any sports channel out there(with the Sports Pack). I had the NFL ticket for the 1st couple of years and it's awesome but I gave it up because I can't give up both Saturday and Sunday during football season. Picture quality is awesome. So is the whole house DVR. The only negative is when it rains really hard, I mean major down pour, the signal breaks up. That is the only negative though. I have had Direct TV for about 15 years and I will never go back to cable.

They also don't have any real numbers...they just guess. The Padres contest those numbers saying they have no profit since all monies go back to the team.

Pro or con, these guys can say all they want. Unless they open up their books it's all hearsay. That's why the owners in just about every pro sport pleads poverty and can't be contested. They won't divulge what they pay themselves. For example, in the real world employee payroll is over 50% of expenses.
