I get the feeling Joe just got carried away. Madden was very, very emotional.

Fouts, Madden and Dryer were just great. With Dryer you could just see Coryell doing that stuff.

I am not a religious man but after listening to his son talk about Coach's military service it’s hard to argue that there was not a little divine intervention at play. It seems that there was a higher purpose bestowed upon the great Don Coryell.
Let no one weep for me or celebrate my funeral with mourning, for I still live as I pass to and fro through the mouths of men.

Let's not get off topic about particular speakers' speech content. I was there in person and it was a fitting tribute to a great coach and a great man. It was very well done.

Probably about 15 minutes before the program started, what looked to be the entire team filed into the back row on the floor section to the applause of the crowd. For some reason this broke me up. I guess I just imagined what Hoke and the coaching staff have probably said to these young men about Coryell, legacy, honor and all that kind of stuff to make this event, and I can imagine this season, one to be especially remembered.

Thanks to all of you for informing us about the team....I was up high and only arrived right at the beginning unfortunately. I actually thought all the players in the back two rows were previous players of his....What a class act by Hoke and Sipe etc to make sure as many players could attend. Another class act was the representative from the Broncos....Class act by Pat Bowlen....I wonder if Spanos would do something like that? ? I am glad I went to the event...It was very moving although I wished some of the speakers had limited their remarks. I enjoyed Fouts, and Madden the best. Personally I had heard that Madden was a jerk, but he was very moving. Upon leaving I ran into Kawhi Leonard and we spoke for a few minutes. He was with a young guy who looked very much like a younger version of DJ....I asked the guy if he was possibly a new member on the team and he said, "yes, I am LaBradford Franklin"....I was thrilled to meet him...Very polite kid and smaller than I imagined....they were practicing together and were in basketball gear.....No, they had not gone to the service because they probably had never heard of Coryell..... Kawhi seemed much more confident and at ease now. When I have spoken with him before, he seemed a little shy and a little uncomforable....I am so ready to see him have a break out year.....I am ready now.

So the services are about 2-3 hours. You guys let a guy talking for 10 minutes about God divert you from what today is all about? All it did was divert me from what Joe Gibbs had to say about Don Coryell. I'll remember what John Madden had to say, what Dan Fouts had to say, what Fred Dryer had to say ... I agree with you fembone, I will remember all except Joe Gibbs. I tried hard to follow him but it got lost it the moment. Maybe he did get caught up in the moment as emotions were out yesterday. Overall memorable event

Me too. I got kinda choked up on this. But the part that got me was when they were showing the video of coach Coryell and the part where he said "Go Aztecs!!!" and everyone started clapping and cheering really got me.
