Don Coryell - Legend and innovator

Condolences from this BYU Cougar fan. He was such a great coach and from everything I heard, a great man; he will be missed.

I believe Cougar fans will understand how the Aztec fans will miss him when Lavell Edwards takes that final road trip. Coach Coryell was to the Aztec football program as coach Edwards is to the BYU program. Most schools never have the fortune of having a coach as solid and well respected as you have had in Don Coryell.

From one Aztec, thank you for your kind thoughts and words kbcoug. Within our inner circle we always referred to Coach Edwards as "disgruntled Monty" as he had that same scowl as our beloved mascot. This was intended to be high praise for a Coach we have only the highest respect for. Living in SLC the last ten years I know this man is an institution among Cougar faithful.

It's all about the memories. At the end of the day, that's all we really have.
