#Padres OF Will Venable was off Tuesday and today (a LHP pitcher starts for the #Rockies). Lower back stiffness from weightlifting Monday. Lineup for Wednesday: 2B J. Hairston CF Denorfia LF S. Hairston C Hundley 3B Headley 1B Salazar RF Cunningham SS Cabrera P Richard AGon rested against lefty. He also has tweaked his shoulder. From

Just as Venable got hot he went on the DL. Too bad. The Padres could really use him. At least 3 of the 15 days is the all-star break. Hopefully he comes back and shows his recent (and last year's) ability.
He will be back July 18.
His last 14 games before his injury:
.333 BA .395 OBP .667 SLG (4 HR) 1.062 OPS

In the long run I could see this as kind of being a good thing as they can't really send Cunningham down now

I think he might be here to stay and our future LF when Venable is back. RF Venable CF Gwynn LF Cunningham Could be the best defensive outfield in baseball.

Now if Adrian would just go on one of his streaks, we could put together a little winning streak.
