If you read the book The Forgotten Man, you will become familiar with an economic reality that was a problem then and is one today as well. That word is "uncertainty." As we approach the Fall elections, Americans will have the economy on their minds. Here are some concepts they should not ignore. . . online.wsj.com/article/SB10001424052748704629804575325233508651458.htmlAzWm

Getting obama out of office! That will have to wait until 2012, but we can clean house of the liberal Democrats this November. Lose the House and maybe the Senate and Obama would be neutered.

What bothers me is that it should by now be eminently clear that economic growth will not happen if business men and women are not sure what the government might do in the future to change regulations. Would you want to play a game of baseball in which the umpires may decide in the fifth inning that from that point onward base runners crossing home plate will count as two runs?
Government rules and regulations may be good or bad, but one thing is clear. If those rules and regulations remain constant for some extended period of time, business will be able to adjust to them and plan accordingly. If the rules are constantly changing, business becomes understandably hesitant to expand and hire more workers.
As I said, this all should be clear by now. Instead, those who control our federal government love to tinker with economy much as a small boy loves to build and tear down toy buildings with his new Lego® set.
