SGF, are you really that surprised that the rosters on goaztecs.com are not up to date? The thing that I remember both of us being so worried about was that they released a 3-deep roster and all the jucos were there, half a dozen frosh were there and Perez was nowhere to be seen; they also as a coaching staff seemed to be quoted about everyone but him. It was odd. AztecAlum has quelled my doubts. and SGF's link did as well in that he should be eligible by getting an AA. But, dude, brah, man, the impact on the game of football from going from 2/56 touch backs to this dude's leg and likely, conservatively 2 a game (if the offense hangs points maybe 2 a half) is an enormous change ---- you run the ball 5 times more a game, you get 2-3 more first downs a game, we're talking multiple points per game difference on both ends.

1. Somebody is undoubtedly going to criticize me for saying the following and maybe that criticism will be warranted.
2. The last 11 years our football team has stunk like newly laid dog crap.
3. Although I understand that it's very difficult to win football games because of the many variables involved, how difficult can it possibly be to update the GD roster on goaztecs.com?
4. If SDSU's athletic department can't be counted on to get something as simple as updating the roster done right, how can any of us expect that something as difficult as fielding a winning team is ever going to get done right?
5. And don't anybody tell me to send an e-mail to Jim Sterk. If he doesn't have anybody on his staff reading this board, that in itself is unacceptable.

Oh I'm not arguing the impact he could have on this team, believe you me. I'm just stating the obvious. This school has set the bar pretty low in terms of interactivity and creativity by the marketing department. God forbid they have stuff like updated rosters, past highlights, coverage of upcoming events, etc...all of which can be found on other MWC school websites.

I know, I was just trying to change it from the negative to really what a difference a mule leg and and a bunch of redshirts and frosh (plus some toughness and conditioning) might mean next year. Special teams is something like every 3-4 plays and can cover 30-70 yards, we have a weapon punter and looks like we're going to have a huge leg on kickoffs - that changes games. We know the update of the roster sucks, we know the athletic department has huge problems, I'm still excited that it looks like we get a new guy to kick off and two new tackles next year the two spots that cost us dearly last year (not being able to get 2 yards on 2 plays against WYO and missing the subsequent 34 yard field goal).

nope, i dont work in the weight room. And its not my job to tell that person to update the roster. Also, that person updates that stuff when they are told to..so all of this comes from Hoke. He either hasnt got around to telling the computer people to update the roster..or, he doesnt want to do it right now. I assure you, they will release an up to date roster by August 9th. Doesn't mean squat? hahahah...actually, it means EVERYTHING. in order to begin working out with the team they need to be officially admitted. and yah for most of you on here, it doesnt mean squat to you until YOU see them here at fall camp, or even the first game since camp is closed to the public. but for ppl in my position..we have seen them already and they are here, part of the team as well as the school Well, if as others have speculated you work in the weight room, you would be employed by the athletic department and would therefore presumably have access to whomever it is who is responsible for updating the roster. And since you assure us these guys have in fact been admitted to SDSU, maybe you could pass along the information - diplomatically, of course - that said person isn't exactly keeping up with his or her work. (Sorry to sound pissy but the inability of my alma mater's athletic department to get even such mundane things right never ceases to amaze.)

Can you understand some of our paranoia that the roster was updated after spring ball with people not yet on campus and Perez is no-where to be found? Like in most organizations, it is not your job to do, but it might behoove the end product to inform --- just sayin'

But most other schools dont release this type of information in june or july. they release a spring roster and then a camp roster. you guys got the spring roster already and you will get the camp roster once camp starts..august 9th.. but just trust me on this...perez is there. he has been with the team for about a month now Can you understand some of our paranoia that the roster was updated after spring ball with people not yet on campus and Perez is no-where to be found? I'm surprised at you. There is no reason to degrade newly laid dog crap like that. Shocking comparison. ;D

I just did not realize how bad we were till you put it in real perspective for me. Really folks, I can get worked up about a lot of things but if Abel Perez is not that excited about if he is on a list or not, but is excited enough about playing football to have joined the team for these summer workouts, I think I will let this issue go.

As I posted earlier, I talked to a staff person at the early morning workouts. I asked him if Perez was there and he said yes. Nuff said!

Yeah. But I guess if that is what you are always looking for, it stands to reason that you're going to find it.
