Seems to me that "interesting" would actually be saying the MOST about the guy. May he RIP but may his children become far better citizens than he apparently was.

Man, when they write my obituary I hope it is the exact opposite of this guy. What a waste of a life. I think a rule of thumb is unless you wrote something, sang something, invented something, or discovered something, you don't want an obit.

Obits are for people with lives that they can be proud of. I think that's more than those who "wrote something, sang something, invented something, or discovered something". But at the end of the day, it is about what you gave -- not what you got. At least I hope it is. At the risk of getting philosophical, I suppose we should all pause every now and then and write our own obits. And if we struggle at the process, we might want to think about why that is. Yoda out..

Of course, I was being profane and there are two types of obits that make into say the big regional paper like the NY/LA times, etc - the star and the scoundrel.
