The Padres host Houston in a 4 game series over the long July 4th weekend. The Friday night game matches the two best pitchers on the two teams.
Padres Mat Latos v Astros Roy Oswalt
Latos 2.93 ERA
1.92 ERA after April.
Oswalt 3.08 ERA
Only 2 of his starts have not been quality starts.

Friday Mat Latos 2.93 v Roy Oswalt 3.08
Saturday Kevin Corriea 5.14 v Bud Norris 6.80
Sunday Wade LeBlanc 3.16 v Brett Myers 3.20
The Astros are 12-21 on the road. The Padres need to grab at least 3 of the 4 games. A 4 game sweep would be muy dulce.

Padres Mat Latos v Astros Roy Oswalt Latos 2.93 ERA1.92 ERA after April. Oswalt 3.08 ERAOnly 2 of his starts have not been quality starts. This should be a greatly pitched game. Oswalt still has it and Latos is becoming one of the best. Latos is starting to get more notice on MLB Radio network with hosts such as Jim Duquette and kevin Kennedy spouting off about Latos and Jim Bowden as well. I like it. |
