Part I was on this topic was on the old board.
I am noticing a little more than an uptick of SDSU gear around town. I was at the del mar fair, crown point, otay ranch mall, downtown, and mission valley the past month or so and have noticed more people wearing gear. I also went into the village mill bakery off del mar heights (best muffins, IMO) rockin Aztec gear and got a go aztecs! So we are making roads into casual fans it seems like. Let's hope it translates in the stands come football/b-ball season as well as the other sports.
Go Aztecs!!!

No. I guess it depends on where you are, who is there and what they are wearing. The Fred Noonan School of Navigation.

That is good to hear. I live in North County and see very little but I have noticed a lot of people wearing Cal State San Marcos shirts.

Down South where I am is the land of the rich USD daughters and their USD stickered Merecedes'. As far as "gear" down here it's pretty much USD or Arizona. USD all winter during the school year and Arizona all summer when the Zonies invade. SDSU students can't afford to live around here, the only thing I see are all the sorority girls in thier USD sweats. Arizona flags everywhere all summer and nary an SDSU sticker/hat/shirt anywhere except the Beachcomber when I'm there. Didn't used to be that way, South Mission was a hotbed of Aztec support. Not so much anymore. Former fans are still there, but interest has waned over the last decade of despair. Anyway, Steve, glad to see you people in North Mission are on the ball. I'll have to suffer through the pretty sorority girls during the winter and the Zonies in the summer. The Fred Noonan School of Navigation.

I do have to revise my comment after reading your post. I see in order... -Arizona/Arizona State -USD -USC -Then a couple of other schools, includung Aztecs. We need to get those South Mission people back on board. Maybe a bowl season will do it. Funny at the Pennant last night. I stopped in for a couple. Small Aztec flag by the TV's, along with a equal sized Cal Poly flag.

Mission beach above the coaster is all Zonies renting beach houses in the summer (i know my zonies do it). One thing that should be noted, is those people all have ASU (or UofA if they went there) gear on if they attended or not, you're a transplant, they make you stop by Smittys or Fry's because right when you walk in the door is a couple racks of solid gold ASU gear. If we can get bball and fball popping at the same time for a couple years, I think we can get closer to that.

Yesterday I was in Mission Beach and saw three different people wearing Aztec gear. Later on the same day my wife and I went to the Zoo and my wife was wearing Aztec gear, we got a "Go Aztecs!" from the first zoo employee we saw. :)
