Maybe, but it's a long way out and the process won't be all that easy. Raising the cap also means less tax increment into the general fund. =Bob

Even if the NFL kicks in $150M (which they won't), the Chargers are going to be asking the public for $575-$650M worth of assistance for a stadium. Its going to be next to impossible to get the citizens to vote in favor of such a subsidy any where in America...let alone a city contemplating bankrupty.

You know politicians are great at coming up with proposals to spend your money, because they are not good businessmen (usually), and do not know much about saving or making smart investments. Every city in the state (just about) is in financial trouble right now, and an idea like this is ludicrous. But, they will tell you how much $$$ it will bring in to the community, and lick their chops even though they know there is almost no way to pull it off.

Welfare for billionaires? Sure, if I'm Spanos I am going to ask for the taxpayers to take the risk while I take the profits. Hopefully the powers that be in San Diego have wised up. I have my doubts.
