1. They are 6-9 over the last 15 games. 2. They are only 18-15 at home (versus 24-12 on the road) 3. They are 21-7 in games started by the two pitchers we don't face. 4. They are 21-20 in games started by the three pitchers we do face. 5. The Padres are 24-14 in games started by the pitchers we will throw. 6. The Padres are tied with Boston for the 2nd best road record in baseball. (Tampa Bay is #1). 7. The Padres have to be pumped facing a team that has the attention of a lot of baseball fans because they are in the thick of the race in the AL East. Beating the Rays will prove to the few nay sayers, that are left, that the Padres are indeed for real.

Ironically enough, in each of the Padres 2 prior visits to Tropicana Field, San Diego took 2 of 3 games

Padres take Game 1, 2-1. Strong performance by Mat Latos (8 strikeouts in 7 innings)
