With a dominant performance by TCU against Florida State, I'm feeling slightly better about the Aztecs' performance in conference this past season. The down-side is that their team has mostly underclassmen. Are the 'Frogs gonna bring some baseball cred to the MWC? This only helps Tony in my opinion. Your thoughts...

TCU is a well run program that has made steady progress under Sclossnagle. They definitely represent the MWC in a favorable manner. I think people should also keep an eye on UNM as their coach has lit a fire under that program's backside in the short time he has been there. Sure the success of other MWC schools has some minimal positive effect for the Aztecs and TG, but in the end, he has got to figure out how to put his stamp on this program. How does TG want his teams to play? Are they a small ball team? (Get'em on, get'em over, get'em in) Do they play for the big inning and the long ball? Does he believe in the running game? Does he want a team that scraps for 27 outs? Is pitching and defense their trademark? You've got to pick something to hang your hat on, IMO. What that is under TG, I do not know. Something is lacking in the program at the moment; hopefully it gets squared away quickly.

The only place Tony will take this team is Hometown Buffet. As i said before, he's a player and not a coach. Anyone know his email address??

I think this past season was a bit of a wake-up call for Tony. Purging some under achieving pitchers and bringing in fresh meat is a step in the right direction. TCU is clearly playing at an elite level and New Mexico is solid. We can improve on 3rd place in the MWC. Tony brings a lot to our program and he'll get the job done.

I'm not feeling better about our Baseball program but I'm certainly impressed with TCU. They continue to ascend and we continue to wallow in mediocrity. Sterk needs to get a fire going in this program. By the way, a few days ago, TCU had a full page color ad in the LA TIMES Sports section touting their baseball program and their school........wow! Wonder in how many cities and papers they ran that ad.

And how did these two programs get to these levels. Coaching!!! Improving to third place is not my idea of a successful program. Eight goddamn years is enough for this clown.

No....It took him 8 years to get a new pitching coach/recruiter. And that, of course, is on Tony. I'm just saying that with the addition of Valenzuela and all the new recruits coming in (many of which are local), I think we will have better results in the very near future. I'm an Aztecs fan and I have optimism for this program.
