Tell ya what - I work with a woman with a BA from UCSD and she will tell anyone up front that it's a lousy school. She doesn't say that because it's academically overrated (she will agree that it's not), but rather because UCSD is so intent on becoming even in rep with Cal and UCSmellA. She told me the profs are totally intent on research, keep office hours only now and then and really don't give much of a rat's ass about undergrad students because the administration wants the profs concentrating on research rather than teaching and that means spending most of their time with grad students and post-docs. CSUSM is an ambitious school in terms of athletics and costs one Hell of a lot less than UCSD. =Bob Cal State schools for the most part have professors that actually teach their classes. Those same professors are available after school for discussions. UC schools all have a reputation for Grad Assistants teaching in the place of the Professors. When it comes to enrichment of education at an institution I would chose the one where the Professors are available to facilitate learning. That was the general Idea in the first place. In the final analysis, a BA or BS from either school is the same. It will get you into National University's MBA program.

Which school is cheaper!!!! I would definitely say ucsd and dont forget about Pt loma who has advanced far into their playoffs as well. Cv you are way off on Coach Pugh. His talent base wasn't that rich. I t was not comparable to say a RB or a Poway or even El cap. Not close.. I shouldn't feed the troll but I have to... Mission Bay aka Cathedral High School in baseball. Most of Coach Pugh's players were not from the area covering MB High. They only attended that school to play baseball. I'll stop right there before I get asked too many questions... Dont care where they were from, they still weren't as good as most would believe. Kids still go to that school from other areas, and most go through proper channels.. since Pugh left, there baseball program is no longer relevant...

Thanks for all the help and info on this thread guys. My friends son has decided to finish up his school and playing days at Cal State San Marcos. He visited and loved the coaching staff. Matt Kretchmer will be a senior. A hard throwing 6-6 lefty. He played the last couple of years at New Mexico State. www.nmstatesports.com/ViewArticle.dbml?DB_OEM_ID=1900&ATCLID=204887906
