I think something that has be overlooked concerning Utah's move to the PAC-12 is that they are now the only institution that has moved from being and non-BCS school to a BCS school. Utah has always been very critical of the BCS monopoly in the past. It will be interesting to see their position now that they are inside the velvet ropes.
Utah could actually become a huge allies on the inside for the MWC. Or will they turn their back on their old MWC brethren and tell the bouncer they aren't with us and we aren't on the list?

Given that, at best, I could only be a B student at UCSD (and I like to party) this is a bit much for me to comprehend.
Sorry, couldn't resist.....

It would really be impressive if Utah makes any kind of effort to help those left behind.

Utah is the only school to go from non-BCS to BCS in this round of moves.
Cincinnati, Louisville and South Florida all became BCS when they moved to the Big lEast a few years back, and you can see what it did for them.

That being said, its probably reality. All this talk about the quality and standing of universities always takes second place to money.

pacfudge snobs now have 8 AAU U's & 4 non members. UU, WSU, ASU & OSU are not on the prestigious academic list of 61. It just shows that it's about the $$ and TV markets so look for them to pick & pluck as they see fit in the future!

So who that is not in the Pac-12, but is within their geography and has the most TV sets? We do. Screw those snobs. I'd rather we join someone who realizes our potential rather than someone who wants us to be nonexistent.

Its a unique situation. however, SDSU was not ready to move into the PAC X. those number # given are inflated. There are operating cost alone will go up. Furthermore, the cost of competing w/ other members of the PAC 10 will go up. All in all they will most likely make one or two million dollars more and there is a possibility of losing money if they don't win.

I think the biggest change for them will be exposure. If Craig Thompson wasn't such a moron, he would have signed a half way decent TV contract. However, he catered to Utah and BYU and we see what we have today. What we need to do as a conference is revisit the TV contract and see were we can make more money.

Take a peak at their advertisers, that'll give you a clue. With our viewership, SDSU has the potential to become the MWC flagship. We can only be that by winning, just as that other state school Utah, did. If we ever reached that enviable position, we will not remain where we are today. Somebody will want us.

What happens to TV coverage should the MWC become a BCS conference? Would we be required to go back to ESPN?
