Lots of people here are interested in what SMU, and Houston, and maybe even FSU, and UNR could give us. I listened to some interview driving back from La Jolla with Hacksaw, not sure who it was, but they were stated like he is on the committee with Thompson and that they were facts, basically what was said is of the current pool of teams available it is a NO for sure when it comes to expansion.

Fresno has good economics to a deal. I've said it once and I'll say it again...as SDSU alumni we shouldn't want to be seen anywhere near CSU-Fresno. The uneducated fan will lump us together and its not flattering. CSU-Fresno may have slayed a BCS team or two in the last few years but their reputation is trashy on and off the field. We need to do everything we can to separate ourselves from them.

Expansion has nothing to do with blindly adding teams. We have to remember that.
The only, ONLY thing expansion is good for is getting the MWC closer to a BCS auto bid. Boise helps in that regard, even with Utah leaving. The only school we can get that might add help is Houston. I haven't run the numbers to know for sure, but unless I'm forgetting something, there the only ones with the numbers even worth evaluating.

Remember they got routed by a MWC 4th place team in their bowl game,

Fresno is in CA, they have a ton of fans and they would bring value to the TV contract. We have played them over 50 times and they are a CSU school. I hate and respect them. They have done a lot to cleanup the atmosphere at the games as there was a bad element creeping into the stadium. So keep a level head or show me your list of schools you want in the conference (keep it real).

None of the schools being thrown out as possible additions do anything for our BCS #.

I know it probably wouldn't help our BCS AQ chances but I like the idea of adding Houston (big City, big market and Texas partner for TCU), Hawaii (Great road trip every two years and good image for the conference and you own the whole state full of Samoans) and Fresno (old rivals, rabid fans and reputation as Giant killers). We could then have a conference tournament if we wanted.
