Sad to see from the MWC perspective, but good for them. The built a solid athletics program to go with their acedemics and now maybe can starting winning again in basketball.

I'm late to the party, I was out in Wendover, Nevada, (our stateline), putting money on the Celtics +7.5, while my Lakers won, a win-win.
This is good for Utah as far as money goes, but that's about it. Adding Colorado and Utah to the PAC-10 does nothing for their conference image. And though they now have their precious conference championship, it may be like giving a party and no one showing up, (how's that PAC-10 basketball tournament working out for you?). I mean, as an Angelino, I know the L.A. sports culture and I just can't see the good sports fans of Los Angeles getting excited about a conference championship between any school that doesn't involve USC and as far as the other fans in the other cities in the conference, who cares?
I know that already people here in SLC are getting excited at the prospect of PAC-10 schools coming to SLC but I can't imagine USC getting excited about coming to yet another cow town to play a conference game. The last additions to the PAC-8 were the two Arizona schools and really other than dividing the booty 10 ways instead of 8 I don't see how those two progams have made significant contributions to the PAC-10. (An NCAA basketball championship by 'Zona doesn't count as its been established the last couple of weeks that it's all about football). And along the lines of the 'Zona schools I don't see where CU and Utah will make any significant contributions, except the booty will now be divided 12 ways instead of 10.
As I said previously, I think the MWC did better by adding BSU, even with the loss of Utah. Utah may get the BIG BUCKS and the "prestige" of being in a BCS conference, but I also believe the good people of SLC and beyond will not be amused if the previous big fish in the little, (but dynamic), pond becomes a little fish in a big pond and goes the route of, say, Arizona. Utah may have to get used to 4-5 losses a season playing with the "big boys" on a regular basis.

SDSU needs to step up to the plate in 2010 and 2011. If SDSU goes 5-7 or 4-8 this year, let's forget it. We're incompetent and we've proven it over and over again. Bottom line....SDSU has been a drag on the conference like no other team in the USA. Time to fish or cut bait.

In the words of Freddy Tireiron: "Vaya con mierda mi amigos, vaya con caca my friends"! So Long utes! Anybody want to speculate how long Boilin' Mad lasts with a pacfudge schedule and what he has left for a squad??
