If there was a way to configure Petco for football that makes sense it would really help increase attendance. If we have no other alternative, they will. Cal is playing at AT&T park this year while they redo their stadium. That too is a baseball only configuration, but they make it work.

I think WSU and OSU concerns pertain to LA recruiting. Second tier players in general in the LA area are better than SD first tier players with the exception of just one or two players a year.

Mike Bohn said he was assured that Colorado would be in the South division. If CU is going to be in the South, you have to think Utah will be too. That's not good for the Utes. Being in the North would have given them a sure win every year against pathetically bad WSU so they'll lose that opportunity. Bad for wazzu, that would get them to LA only every 3 years & recruiting SoCal will suffer. That is good for SDSU! I think Pac expansion to 12 is going to be a very bad thing for WSU. They're already the athletic doormat of the league and there's no reason to think they won't just be pushed two slots further down by Utah and CU. And unlike such other BCS conference athletic doormats as Vanderbilt, Northwestern and Iowa State, they aren't one of the better academic schools in their conference. Rather, they're probably the lowest rated. So SDSU might be "on the clock" but I think in a sense, WSU might be too because if the Pac becomes greedy enough, I could see the conference someday pushing out the Cougars the same way the Big East pushed out Temple.

WSU hasn't been able to out-recruit Utah for SoCal players for many years. In other words, it's only SDSU's horrific play that has allowed WSU to do that. Particularly with them no longer playing in SoCal annually come 2011, if SDSU could just start playing in bowl games, that therefore figures to change.

Plus they're going to be competing directly against U$C every year and will have to make a trip to play one of the Arizona schools every year in the desert. Any such games in September or early October could be rough for the Utes. im thinking the shift of power in the pac is going to move to eugene and salt lake

Play them. And if The SF Giants can reconfigure AT&T to have the Emerald Bowl played there annually, Petco Park can be reconfigured also. I believe it will help OUR recruiting efforts in our own backyard. Keep the local talent local. The Pac10 ain't local in my book.

the President of the Padres was on 1090 radio Friday morning , saying how much he liked Brady and they were looking into seeing if they could configure Petco into a football stadium for 1 game if it could help SDSU , may not be this year but were exploring the options That is interesting. Who said that? Morad? There seems to be increasing precedence for this now as Yankee stadium is hosting Army-Navy (I think) and Wrigley field is hosting Northwestern- Illinois this year. Yes, we are playing WSU next year and Brady has said he wants to play a BCS or PAC 10 team every year. It might work as a one time deal with lots of marketing pizzazz to get people downtown for a game in November.

We've been hearing this thrown around a little bit, so sounds like it has some legs - might be a cool experience, chance for a nice opponent and a big fundraiser for the program
