ESPN states that he has a 36+ inch vertical jump, which suggests a lot of power and explosion for a big guy. They also rate him at "76" which makes him one of the highest rated recruits we have ever had.
Looks like a very solid start to the 11 class.

"San Diego State snares Murrieta's Jon Sanchez for defensive line A 6-foot-3, 235-pound defensive end, Jon Sanchez of Vista Murrieta (Murrieta, Calif.) has agreed to sign a Class of 2011 scholarship offer from the Aztecs.
Arizona and Colorado State also made offers to the three-star talent.
Sanchez posted a 4.96 40-yard dash, 4.75 20-yard shuttle and impressive 36.7-inch vertical on the combine circuit this offseason.
SDSU has four pledges."
A quality pick up. He can easily put on another 40 lbs in the weightroom without much falloff in speed. By his college Soph. year he could be @ 270 lbs.
Oldie Out

Moves very well for his size. In that film I bet he was closer to 210 lbs than 235 lbs. I really like the pickup.

Oldie Out He will likely be expected to improve his speed over his weight. Rocky's theory, and Hoke has espoused this as well, is speed at the DE to get to the backfield. I would bet that at 270 his speed falls off which isn't what this staff wants at that position. Welcome to State John - I hope you have a great college experience and help us win games.

Seen the kid play, beast with upside galore. Pure speed around the corner, other than the swim has not developed any other technique. Once he does, watch out.

Vertical Jump 36.7" Maybe he should join Fisher's squad! He can swat down passes in the flat or when screens develop. He just needs to stay home or keep dancing with the tackle. Oldie Out
