Half of the western area school go to the pac-10/12...and the other half go to the Big 10/8.....
Mountain West goes away, which would make the bcs very happy..!!

Great plan, now only to get those conferences to accept what they deem "inferior" and convince them to slice up their BCS pie...good luck.

MWC not going anywhere. Things look good for SDSU and Pac-FAIL does not rip apart Big-12. Utah may leave but I would not bet the house on it.

Utah goes within 12 months. The MWC requires only one years notice and Colorado doesn't expand the PAC-10 to 11 until 2012. The real fear is that the PAC-10 tries to eliminate the MWC from BCS AQ status by taking 2 BYU and TCU. The MWC is turning into real competition for the PAC-10 in recruiting in the West. By taking the 2 other teams, they destroy any chance the MWC has at BCS AQ status, and also takes the MWC down a couple of notches as far as competition in the Western region of the USA. They also remove the MWC as a BCS member, meaning the BCS payouts are higher due to no MWC teams involved. Thats a lot of incentive all totalled.

TCU and BYU to the PAC-11/12 ain't gonna happen under any circumstances. But your thesis does point out the vulnerability of the MWC and the need for the MWC to add Houston and Fresno......now.
