I think his name is Brian Main. IMO, he’s one of the best in the business. Wouldn’t want to trade him for anyone else. Last night, he welcomed everyone to Viejas calling it “The Madhouse on the Mesa”. Also, did a nice Marshaaaaaaaaaaaaall Faulk.
And only three more games left to hear him call Billeeeeeeee White and Deeeee… Jaaaaay… Gaaaaay for the last time.

I like his work, too. He adds some excitement to the game without going completely over the top.

the funniest part about theatrical announcers is actually seeing the person behind the voice. they always look way different than you'd imagine.

whatever he gets paid, its not enough. THere wouldnt be 12,414 yelling DEEEEE JAAYYYYY GAYYYYYYYYYYYY if it wasnt for him. Same with Billy. If you watch him work, it doesnt ever look like he screams into mic. He is very calm, and the voice just booms. He is usually seated in middle of court. Usually wears red or black

My only complaint, and I've voiced it before, is that he always gives credit (i.e. shouts out the name in his unique style) to the guy who made the basket, even if it was the assist that really made the play special.
For example, DJ could make a no look behind the back through the legs cross-court bounce pass to Billy White who just casually lays the ball in the basket, and what will we hear?
Biiiiillllllllyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy........WHITE!!!!!!!
But otherwise I concur, he is pretty good.

I attended last nights game. The PA announcer makes it very exciting.
Where did this kik Jamaal Franklin come from? He has quite an all around game.

Not only does it add to the atmosphere, but I swear he watches the opposing team and makes sure he draws out his calls as long and loud as possible to disrupt them in setting up their offense.

Tremendous part of the Viejas experience. Love his calls. And like 12414 said it's a little sad that this is the last year we'll get to hear him do the Billyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy HWhite! and Deeeeeee Jaaaaaaay Gaaaaaay!

He is indeed very good.
Just for the heck of it, I watched the second half of the LA Tech at Fresneck State game on Saturday night. The teams weren't much good but the game was very exciting toward the end as Fresneck came back from 14 down at the half to eventually pull away from LA Tech. However, the PA announcer did nothing whatsoever to contribute to the excitement. Just completely unemotional.
BTW, I didn't think much of Fresneck's new building, either. The floor is a blond wood, which looks really strange, with a way oversized Bulldog logo in the middle. All around just a really poor atmosphere in comparison to Viejas.

He's been at this awhile at Cox/Viejas and does a hell of a job. It would be nice if the Aztecs could recognize him in some small way. Maybe present him with a signed basketball at halftime?
