www.signonsandiego.com/news/2011/feb/08/ncaa-tourney-team-selectors-obviously-what-they-se/This gives a pretty good idea of what goes on in the minds of members of the Big Dance's selection committee. We may have to put our rage at Boylen on hold for a minute because he calls us a final-four team. Then again, he says we have to shore up our back-up point guard. Ummm, DJ Gay never needs to come out. When he does, KAWHI LEONARD plays the point. Okay, continue raging at him.

I hate Boylen, but if DJ goes down w/ an ankle, we'd be in trouble. I think LBF is our PG for the future, but I sure wish he was getting 5-10 minutes every night to hurry his development to protect us in the event of an injury to DJ. Last night I thought LBF looked excellent. He's learning to "value the ball" more. Turnovers can spell the early end of a career for a PG and LBF seems to be listening.

We may have to put our rage at Boylen on hold for a minute Well, Boylen won't be having anything to do with where we're seeded. It's the AD at Choo! Choo! U we're going to have to start brown nosing.

Xavier Thames may play a bigger role next year than most people realize . . .

I for one am not overly concerned. If, heaven forbid, DJ does end up missing a game or two due to an unforeseen circumstance, what I've seen from Rahon and Tapley, and more recently Jamaal Franklin, leads me to believe that any of the three can step in and adequately fill the role. Even though he's our point guard, DJ's still more of a combo guard, and more of a scorer than a prototypical point man.
Put it this way: I feel the same way about it as I did two years ago when many of us cringed at the thought of Richie Williams being replaced for stretches by DJ. I didn't have a problem with it then, and I don't have a problem with it now.
In fact, I think he NEEDS to start sitting DJ more so that he doesn't get completely worn down before the NCAA's. No need to continue to play him 39 minutes a game. He needs to be fresh and ready to roll in March.

His A-TO ratio is 5.7-1 in conference.
NOT A POINT GUARD.

DJ Gay could probably become a damn fine power forward if he wanted to!
He loves his coach, his team, his fans, and he will do whatever is asked of him.
Kawhi can move to the point if needed. He would probably have a lot of turnovers, but we could win with him there.

As long as UCSmellA's Daniel G. Guerrero Chairs the selection committee the pacfudge10 or 12 will get more than a fair shake & the MWC will get screwed somehow! JMO
