To me I think Leonard has to get a little more polished to play in the NBA. He has a ton of potential but if he leaves i see him ending up playing in Europe or some other country. Please stay at least one more year and work your way into a potential Lottery pick! No way Kawhi plays oversees. And, again, the NBA is as much about skills as it is about potential. If they think Kawhi has the physical tools (and he does), they'll coach him up to meet their specs. The odds of Kawhi coming back for his jr. year are very long. People need to get over that and wish him a very high draft slot and a very big contract in the bigs. I don't understand why people don't get this. It's standard knowledge that quite often the NBA drafts on mere potential, as well as talent. It all depends on what a teams needs are at the time. We'll know on draft day what people have thought of him. Peoples minds can change with the wind.

Forgot someone, Kawhi. He will be back next year. He is not ready for the NBA. He has to work on his shot and polish his all around game. "Will be"? You sound pretty positive. Do you think all those NBA mock drafts are wrong? Even if he isn't ready this minute, you must agree he will declare. Once that is done and he gets invited to the NBA camps, things could change. I don't think he will be back but I am not ready to say, "won't be".

Does anyone know if Leonard is a decent student? I read that he has taken numerous summer school classes and although it might be to make up a bad grade .. it might also be to assure he graduates and fulfills the promise he made to his mother and grandmother. Maybe he's taking the extra classes with the intent of graduating in 3 - 3.5 years and leaving after his junior year?
It's also possible he attends the pre-draft camps and they suggest numerous ares that he could work on if he returns .. lateral quickness, shooting, ball handling, etc. As good as he is (and he should eventually play in the nba) he is undersized, his shot is horrible and its not like he's not a lock down defender. The biggest knock on Fredette is quickness and Leonard can't come close to guarding him right now or most SG's in the association.

I was thinking about next year today as I was replaying the UNLV game. Alec Williams may not have seen the floor much these first two years, but he'll have gone against Kawhi, Billy, and Malcolm in practice for 2 years. That has to have had a positive impact on his game.

does the guard from USC who is transferring get 6 official visits-understand he can not play until 2012- any one know if any 2011 recruits are coming for visits the remainder of our home season- what does it look like for UNLV, UNM, CSU , next season, Believe Coach Fisher encourages the players to take classes during the summer session so they can take a lighter load during the basketball season-

After the excitement of this season finally ends, it will certainly be interesting to see where this team ends up with its recruits and with the Kawhi, Carlwell issues. The team could be great (if kawhi and Carlwell somehow both return), good and competitive for league title (if Kawhi and Carlwell don't come back and team gets some more recruits, but not more bigs) or very good and competitive (if the further recruits include at least one big and one more player who can make some impact). In two seasons, the team will have another abundance of seniors with Chase Tapley, Alec Williams, James Rahon, Kevin Young and DeShawn Stephens as seniors (and perhaps more such as Terrence Boyd), Thames and the Franklins as juniors and the rest as undergrads. That team will probably be favored to take MWC title again. The thing is, if Kawhi comes back next season (I know it is probably not likely, but I guess it is possible), the team will have a chance to be ranked and fight for MWC title and the following year, even after a departure of Kawhi and Shelton, it will be strong due to the seniors and juniors returning. That means, under best case scenario, we could end up with three straight years of ranked Aztecs hoops. Very nice stuff!! OK. Back to focusing on this season.

They only lose PG Gary, but freshman PG K Williams has already stepped into the starting lineup averaging 30 mins and 4.5 assists per game and Fenton is experienced off the bench at PG. UNLV will be right there if they ever stop shooting 3's. They lose Jasper and Willis but their younger players were already starting to outplay them anyway (and jasper was coming off the bench). They also get back SG Wallace 40% 3FG, Mike Moser (6'8 PF UCLA transfer) and Reggie Smith (PG transfer from Marquette). CSU loses 3 starters ... frontline PF Franklin and PF Ogide and SG Nigon. They will probably fall to the middle of the pack again unless their 2 7 footers who barely play now step up big time. SDSU .. the key will be Leonard coming back and/or getting recruits Boyd, Manga and mystery big. The PG and PF/C questions are a complete unknown ... although we know we have talented G's and wings players who will be experienced and tourney tested. We will struggle early but we should be good enough to be a bubble team by the end of the season.

We'll probably be expected to finish around 3rd in the conference behind New Mexico and UNLV. Looking forward to seeing DeShawn Stephens terrorize the rims next year:

I would especially like it if DS is terrorizing the rims along with BC. I'm sure that Kruger and Alford are shuddering at the thought of Kawhi and BC both coming back, which may be unlikely, but if it happened would put SDSU right back in the mix for MWC title and a top 15 finish.

believe it will be family decision for KL, plus do you believe all the NBA people , it in their best interest to tell guys they can make it to ensure a deep draft, doubt they can promise anything , in addition you have players that come from EURO

Next year is likely to be a transitional year. The keys to this team are seniors who have learned Fisher's defense.
It always seems to take a year for new players to learn how to play Fisher's defense.
Leonard makes a huge difference. If he leaves, we fall back to the rest of the pack.
Everyone does not seem to value DJ. Without him we would have lost a lot more games. It took him 4 years to get to this level and nobody else on the team is close. Franklin looks like he will get better, but may never be as good as DJ.
All these unrealistic expectations are sure to disappoint.
