It would have been nice to add CU to the MWC. Seems totally odd that the Buffs are now in the Pac10.

Why would 1 big 12 school (or 6) want to join the Pac-10 or SEC either? (Both of those options sounded ridiculous a few weeks ago too). The Big 12 has been one of the best football conferences for the last decade ... yet it's falling apart before our eyes.
Everything you thought you know about conferences is changing. The big east already has 16 basketball programs and the schools in question are primarily basketball schools. There is no way they go up to 20 ..could they? (The Big East might also drop some programs ... we'll see)

Wouldn't a team on the barren plains east of the Rockies be a natural rival for teams from Southern California or the Northwest? Isn't it odder to think that a school 90 miles down the freeway with its own market might be a better fit? Nah, it's all about "academics" and the compelling need to capture the Colorado market. After all, they do have the beer. The Fred Noonan School of Navigation.

I think that Colorado was worried that Texas would go to the Pac10 and be forced to take Baylor, which would leave Colorado as odd man out when the Big12 would collapse. That left Colorado open to joining the MWC.
Colorado took the offense and joined the Pac10 before being left out. Knowing that Colorado was gone, we now took Boise State. If Texas and four other Big12 schools head to the Pac10, we could add more schools.
If Texas stays put, the Big12 could take TCU and the Pac10 wants Utah as the backup plan to expansion to 12 teams.
