What do you think this means as far as Utah and BYU?

Why the hell did the MWC do that right now? We're poised to pick up KU, K State, & Missouri? Unless we can some how add only KU and MU, and not KSU, I don't see the point.

I think we are in line to get the Fiesta Bowl with the colapse of the Big 12 and the Fiesta loves Boise State. Great addition.

I think things are going to get crazy... Now the MWC hopefully adds some Big 12 schools. If not the MWC will get raided and we will have to add more WAC schools. Either way I think it was good to grab Boise St.

"What do you think this means as far as Utah and BYU?"
First of all I know nothing from any source and am talking out of my a$$. But, I would think that both Utah and BYU like being the big fish in a little pond that they control. And, now that the pond just got bigger with the addition of BSU and may grow even more with the addition of the left overs from the BIG12 (Kansas, Kansas St, etc,) they will stay put.
I think the Utah/Mormon schools have a different (Values driven) agenda and will not get drunk with the TV money that is being thrown around. I think they are more interested in control which they have now and would certainly give up if they were to move to the Pac 16 or Big 16.

Just what, pray tell, has happened between Monday afternoon and this morning to change the MWC position? Clearly, one of the domino's that the MWC was waiting for has fallen into place. They must have had several different scenario's in mind, several of which would involve inviting Boise St. The question now is what does the MWC know that we do not know that prompted them to issue the invite to Boise? The machinations of this particular dance are fascinating. I am still worried about how it will all shake out as far as we are concerned but the waters are clearing little by little. Either way I think it was good to grab Boise St. It sounds like the MWC has a little more power than most of us are giving them credit for ..." The league (Big East) should act fast, because the Mountain West is eyeing these same teams, which is a major reason why that conference delayed a vote on adding Boise State earlier this week." We are so concerned about losing teams, but we might easily add a few more and jump to 12-14 total. Geographically, teams like Kansas, Missouri, Kansas State, Iowa State and Baylor are far but not out of the question. It does seem strange that "they" are talking about Big-12 teams heading to the Mountain West? espn.go.com/blog/ncfnation/post/_/id/23104/big-east-should-look-west

The big bruhaha that is happening at this moment is Utah, is that the Utes are 'back on the table' for the Pac-12, and that the invite is immenent: today or Monday for it to be official.
I've heard it before...but it has really hit the fan up here at the moment...again.

Colorado was offered to join the MWC, which made geographical sense, but when they bolted for PAC10 it opened up for Boise. My guess is we do get some Big 12 teams. Where is Baylor going?
Fun and exciting times.

[/quote] In football only, but the Big East already has 16 basketball programs and the teams in question like Kansas, K State and Missouri are probably regarded as basketball schools. The big east would have to kick out a few teams before inviting others. It would seem like the ACC would be a fitting destination for Kansas and K St for basketball and football.

I think it is more than a long shot we would pick up any of those schools. It's more likely we lose a BYU, Utah or TCU. This is a hedge against that possibility. Why the hell did the MWC do that right now? We're poised to pick up KU, K State, & Missouri? Unless we can some how add only KU and MU, and not KSU, I don't see the point.

Fun and exciting times. My thoughts exactly. Somehow the MWC thought it had a chance at getting Colorado, and when that fell through it went ahead and grabbed Boise

Colorado was taken off the table and the MWC preferred them to Boise. Other Big 12 leftovers are still in play. It could also mean that the Texas/PAC deal has fallen through forcing the PAC 10 to implement their backup plan which many thought to be a two team expansion scenario--Colorado/Utah. The MWC seeing that it was going nowhere with the Big 12 "pick up plan" and it was losing Utah made a pre-emptive move to cover its loss. And the beat goes on. The Fred Noonan School of Navigation.

Certainly sounds plausible. I sure do like the idea of holding what we have (including BSU) and adding KU, KSU, & Mizzou. I wish I hadn't been exposed to that combination. Now I can't let it go. I am saying why did they wait so long? Boise State is better than KU, KSU, and Missouri in football and that is all that matters. We want BCS status.
