chant didn't really work tonight, PA guy kept talking, tip off and a monster dunk got the crowd into it fast and couldn't hear the chant at all

We waited a little too long to start the chant as well... Should have done it about 30 seconds prior.

We waited a little too long to start the chant as well... Should have done it about 30 seconds prior. Wasn't your fault. Bryan Ransom (the director of the Pep Band) wasn't there last night. His fill-in kept playing the 'Fight Song' too many times. He should have played the Fight Song just once and stopped. That would given you guys enough time to do the 'I Believe' chant before the game started. Instead, you guys had to wait until the game had actually started before you got to do your chant. It just screwed everything up. Like I say, it wasn't your fault. |

Watching on TV it was clear that the chant started late, but I liked it because we could here it as background to the game. Usually the announcers are talking over it and showing stats and sometimes you don't ever hear it when watching from home. I thought it worked...

It was a mix of things. The National anthem started a bit late and the fight song went for round 2. Also we had another guest planned and Richie walked up LITERALLY 30 seconds before we did it so we had to explain to him what the eff we were doing.
All in all it worked out ok.

Mr. Williams was sitting in Section T for a while (row 11?), next to Schnall.
Had the opportunity of shaking Richies hand...

I must say that of all the Aztec players we have had in the Fisher era, Richie is my favorite. He is a little introverted, so leading the song like that is really not in his character. I wish I would have seen him do it....Great atmosphere at the V....

Sure needs a lot of work.... As already noted, an error was made on the part of the person leading the band. We should have stopped after the 2nd time through the fight song. When done right, it gets your heart going a-pitty-pat! |
