"I've been in Division I for 15 years and that is the best student section I've ever seen," Wyoming coach Heath Schroyer said.

Don't let it go to your head, though.

I'll bet he really loves that his predecessor is on one of the signs. Awesome that you guys still have that. As much as I hated seeing that guy at the free-throw line during the games, he did more with less than most coaches in the country. I wonder how often Wyoming's AD kicks himself in the ass for canning him?

Their coach had very positive things to say about our team as well. Its worth reading in "post game notes" under Go Aztecs.com

"I've been in Division I for 15 years and that is the best student section I've ever seen," Wyoming coach Heath Schroyer said. The Show needs to stay focused. Seeing that this is the first time for any of us up at this level, they need to keep their eye on why they're here... ;D

Cowboy fans want this guy gone yesterday. Don't know who's fault it is but Wyo basketball (a once proud program) is a complete mess. Can't help but feel bad for these fans; not to mention it is not good for the conference to have a tostito-bad team. Brings down not only rpi but also overall perception nationally.

Their coach had very positive things to say about our team as well. Its worth reading in "post game notes" under Go Aztecs.com "They're the best team that we've played in the four years that I have been here," Wyoming coach Heath Schroyer said. "I was an assistant in this league when Utah went to the Final Four. It all depends on their seed, but they are better than them. They are really, really good. When they make perimeter shots, I don't know if anyone in the country can beat them let alone in this building." www.kansascity.com/2011/01/29/2620057/recap-san-diego-st-vs-wyoming.html"They are 'Wow,'" said Schroyer, who was frequently seen turning to his bench to utter the same word. "You just keep coaching, keep fighting and you realize that they're very, very good." trib.com/college/wyoming/article_85fa5f63-f841-53b0-8e49-0b98054ebd14.htmlAnd BTW, JayDee Luster is all class. JayDee played tough but fair (man he is quick!). He and LBF had a good little battle going in the second half. Also, in the second half while waiting at mid-court to come in the game, I saw JayDee introduce himself and shake hands with Medhi, who was also waiting to come in. Too bad JayDee's old Hoover coach continues to harbor bad feelings. "It was kind of embarrassing, to say the least," said junior guard JayDee Luster, a San Diego native. "Definitely the best team we've seen so far. Missouri was real good, but this is different, playing a top 10 team at their home court."

Perhaps the "Show" can continue to display their talents at the football games this year and change the character of the sometimes vacant "Jungle".

Speaking of "The Show" I thought "The Drive's" (AM1360's 4-7) sports guys were suppose to be part of it last night...what happened?

Does anyone know the story behind this? I've always wondered what happened between Fish and Hoover coach over JD.

I have said this several times on this forum. Our student section is by far the best I have seen anywhere in the country. I had season tickets in the Big 10 for my undergraduate degree plus I have been to dozens of NCAA tournament games and traveled to other arenas around the country to see games. There is no one better than The Show.
Question: Is that new housing going up a block from the arena? Is it apartments, fraternities, or a new dorm? It looks like we will have The Show lined up for many years to come with so many student housing units right next to Viejas.

It's a new apartment complex, and yes it should definitely help the next generation of The Show.

As I recall, it was because we were recruiting JD and then got Richie Williams to commit. Since we had Richie we stopped recruiting JD and the coach got pissed. Pretty sure that's what happened.

Williams is two years older than JayDee. Williams was a junior when JayDee was a frosh at NMState. I think it had to do with Fisher's recruitment of either Gay, Kashif, or Q. Watkins. While Fish may have offered JayDee a scholie, I don't think JayDee ever gave Fish a verbal. JayDee was getting looks from a ton of schools at the time. I think Fish went elsewhere while JayDee played the field a little, then JayDee got caught standing when the music stopped. JayDee's high school coach may be pissed, but I see no hard feelings on JayDee's part. Every time we play Wyoming, JayDee goes over and shakes Fisher's hand after the pre-game introductions. By all accounts JayDee is a quality kid.
