They don't offer HD? That's pretty old school.

They have an HD channel (mtna, channel 616-1 on Direct TV), but they are too cheap to ever broadcast any HD games. It seems like there were a few HD games earlier in the year, but nothing lately..... Weak.

I always think I have been drinking even when I haven't when I watch sports on the MTN. Everything is so fuzzy.

Whenever I watch a basketball game on The Mtn, I think I'm watching some new conference...the WPP. The Witness Protection Plan Conference. It looks like they take extra steps to blur the picture worse than any other non-HD channel. If you are a player in our league and you don't want your face on tv...playing on The Mtn is perfect for you. If some of the games weren't important to me...I would never watch a non-HD game on The Mtn. Do they really think a casual fan would watch one of our non-HD games when there are so many other HD games on at the same time? Do they really wonder why they have never turned a profit? There has never been a regular season basketball game in HD on The Mtn...that only changes during the MWC Tournament.

Every time I go to a bar to watch a game on The Mtn I always get $#!+ for requesting a channel without HD. 30 TV's with various games on them and only 1 isn't in hi-def. It looks horrible.

This is why I'm always glad whenever Ch4 picks up one of our games. At least they're not too cheap to spring for HD.

I make this comment to them on Facebook regularly. It's really an embarrassingly bad signal!

This is why I'm always glad whenever Ch4 picks up one of our games. At least they're not too cheap to spring for HD. The games they are picking up are on CBS College Sports - which is in HD. It looks like they do have an HD channel as all football games and the MWC tournament are in HD. Hopefully next season they will include basketball games en.wikipedia.org/wiki/MountainWest_Sports_Network

Rather than starting a new thread, on a related but separate subject, here is one crappy Mtn stunt that many in the TV production business sneak in to make the non-BCS, non-pacfudge teams TV experience, well, crappy.
If you notice on all of the Aztec break away, fast break points, that the Mtn switched to the under-basket camera. As a viewer you want to see the exciting fast break layup, dunk, and easy score. Whenever the Aztec player passed the free throw line, the Mtn TV producers switched to the under-basket camera and CUT OFF, and chopped up your enjoyment of the Aztec fast break. This technique really makes viewing the Aztec game, difficult for the marginal viewers. I have seen this type of TV production for many years. The blurred camera, the position of the camera where the TV audience needs binoculars to watch etc. have been done, intentionally.
Mtn=jerks.

Totally agree the non HD broadcast is so second rate. Currently living in Las Vegas so I appreciate any SDSU broadcast I can get.

Aren't the in-house cameras in Viejas Arena Hi-def? If so, why couldn't the Molehill network just pick up the feed of the in house cameras?
