I am really thinking hard about going to the conference tourney this year. I love Vegas and could use a little get away and would like to hear any info about the tournament experience from a fans perspective.
- Is it better to get a all-session pass or just get tix to the SDSU games? - What events, if any, does the MWC put on for fans?
If you have any info I would love to hear it....

Me and 4 others went for the first time last year. doesn't hurt that they one the whole thing and I did well at craps. I know Vegas gives the rebs an advantage but Vegas is damn fun. Had an absolute blast. Won't miss another. I've got 8 with me this year, staying at the encore this time around with 7 others.
We bought tix from scalpers. If money isn't an issue then buy them in advance and sit with other aztec fans. You must go, you'll have the time of your life.

Great, thx for the info. Craps is mygagme of choice too! Were you playing basic strategy, or against the table to win your cash! It is so fun when the dice get on a roll! I am thinking about staying at Harrah's or Rio (get free rooms at either). Is it easy to get tix outside the arena?

Hookers, blow, net cutting.
But seriously. It's my favorite weekend of the year, this will be my third time going and it's an absolute blast.

I could use a little get away too. No, wait. I live in Vegas as it is. Oh well, maybe I can struggle to get there anyway.

I was with SDGaucho last year and will be there again this year. We bought tickets at the window for face value for the quarterfinal game vs CSU then we got tickets from a ticket weasel at around face value for the New Mexico game. After we took them out we bought up basline seats from some sad Lobos fans for the finals at around face value. We watched the Aztec Women and Men win the same day in the finals. Good four day trip of basketball booze and gambling. You can't go wrong.

Dougy,
If you want to watch all of the tournament games, buy full-session passes from SDSU and sit with our fans. If not, buy from scalpers like suggested above. The only seats that you can buy from the box office are upper level and they are pretty bad.
If you're only there to watch the Aztecs and you like to enjoy the Vegas experience as you've suggested, pace yourself. Not saying it's gonna happen, but if we lose on Thursday, it makes for a long, long weekend if all you are going to do is drink and gamble.
I've been to all 3 of the tournaments that we have won and they are 3 of my best weekend trips ever. 40 days until we cut the nets down again.

Any plans?
Hell, those things were carved in stone back in November ... but that's just me :-)
> Been to every Vegas Tournament since '99. > The all-session pass is 100% the best way to go. > Just let loose ...not as in being a jackoff, but just pour yourself into the games as much as you'd expect the players to do. At Viejas we have 14k+ to keep the energy up. By the finals we may have a few thousand, but I'm proud to say that even in the days when my hands and feet could count the Aztecs fans in the stands in Vegas, we made ourselves sound 100-fold. > PACE YOURSELF ... especially if you're going over early/mid week. It's much more fun celebrating on the court and the night on the town after if you've got gas left in your tank! > Mix in a round of golf (or something not so "Vegas" to break the time up).

I've been to hundreds and hundreds of sporting events over the years including two Super Bowls and a couple of World Series games.. and last year's MWC tourney in Vegas was the BEST out of all of them. What a great time!!! Going again this year....
