is it possible to park anywhere near the campus for free and walk to the basketball arena without paying the $ 10 fee I am reading about which they seem to be charging at the closeby lots and structures ? I wouldn't mind walking 15-20 min if possible....

park on Alvarado road right next to VA on the street and just walk across campus. If its a weekday you can take the elevator up from alvarado and college. You can also take the trolley one stop.

... is an F-ing joke! Not the red-jacket Elite Security but an SDSU POLICE OFFICER insisted that I, in the band with a parking pass, park on Level 8!! For NO reason! We're IN THE BAND, DAMMIT, LET US F-ING PARK AND QUIT F-ING HASSLING US. F - - -!

I stopped getting the student parking sticker after the first semester. I could never park closer then the Alvarado lot anyhow, at least the days I had classes. So I started to just park on the street and walk. It a good walk, a bit uphill, but no biggie. cut across the Villa Alvarado lot, and go into the corner of Alvarado and College. If school is in session you can take the elevator up from that building, if not then you can go into the structure, take the elevator up, and cross the bridge. You will probably end up getting to the freeway before everyone else after the game. Just go out East towards 70th and get on the freeway there.

I remember asking people if they needed a ride to their car back in the day.

If you've got a "15-20 minute walk" in you, then park on College Ave south of campus near the Baptist Church. From there, it's .71 miles to Viejas Arena as the crow flies. Figure 1 mile total, including twists and turns.

Would it be better to have special parking next to, and in the bowl, Viejas to unload your equipment? Do you have to carry all the equipment from the parking structure? What was the PO's name? Inquiring minds wanna know... And you never know when a mind has a phone and angry pen, ta-boot. HAM

what about the parking lots that are in the kind of 'bowl' area just north of what used to be called Aztec Bowl - where the Viejas arena is now. There used to be alot of parking spots here which extended all the way down to a kind of frontage road just south of freeway 8- I have seen this on some maps refrred to as parking lot 'X'. does anyone know if this is all pay parking ?

Surely a call to the Chief could straighten this out.

We park in parking structure 6 off e. campus drive (near college ave). Costs a few bucks but there is never any traffic to deal with. It's a 10-15 min walk across campus which I don't mind.

PS4. Most park on Level 2 and sometimes on Level 4 so we can go up the hill rather than down. Every stinkin' year we have some kind of problem but yesterday was just inexcusable. It wasn't just Elite Security, it was an SDSU cop. I'm surprised the guy didn't haul me off to jail. The powers that be were made aware of the situation.
