I am sticking my head in the sand on this and therefore decline to cast a vote. I do not want to consider this. The Fred Noonan School of Navigation.

Same here. No vote.
This scenario is not going to happen.

Instead of the WAC, I'd hope SDSU keeps football but goes independent, with the rest of the sports playing in the Big West...

Sadly this is very much a possibility with teams like TCU, BYU, Utah going to the b12 to join Kansans, Kstate and others and their AQ status.

I am sticking my head in the sand on this and therefore decline to cast a vote. I do not want to consider this. I don't understand L.A. Aztec. He's become almost a complete defeatist and there's really no reason for it. Yeah, SDSU could end up getting screwed. However, for reasons I don't want to bother to explain here, there's more likelihood that we could end up being a member of the following conference: MWC EastAFA CSU Kansas Kansas St. TCU Wyoming MWC WestBoise St. BYU SDSU UNM UNLV Utah Speaking of likelihoods, as has been much discussed on the MWC board, such a conference is likely to gain BCS automatic qualifier status.

Dude,
Give me a choice I like. Its not like those are the only possible outcomes.
Have some faith. There are still a lot of less catastrophic scenarios that could play out.

I am just looking at all possibilities. It looks like Mizzou will not get a Big 10 invite now. So I think the Big 12 cast offs will stick together and try to poach the MWC and salvage the Big 12. To me Mizzou is the key. If they go to the Big 10 the MWC has the leverage if they Stay the Big 12 the leverage.

To me Mizzou is the key. If they go to the Big 10 the MWC has the leverage if they Stay the Big 12 the leverage. Jim Delany said the other day to expect Big Ten expansion to happen in stages. Reading between the lines, that means that although Mizzou probably won't go now, that doesn't mean Mizzou won't go a year from now. Keep in mind that when the Big Ten announced in December it intended to expand, the time frame was 12-18 months. And keep in mind the probability that the Big Ten and the Pac are working in concert to some extent. I don't think the Big Ten wanted to offer Nebraska now. However, DeLoss Dodds has been saying implicitly if not explicitly that the Pac8Big12-6+2 thing was contingent on Nebraska joining the Big Ten. Bringing in Nebraska now rather than waiting accelerates elimination of the Big 12 by a year. At least as a player on the national scene. Which leads to this. The only playuh on the national scene who appears to be bigger than Jim Delaney is Dodds. I think this whole Texas and aTm to the Big Ten thing is Dodds playing Delaney. Why I'm not entirely sure but knowing what a total schemer Dodds is, it wouldn't surprise me if it doesn't somehow have something to do with Notre Dame, since it's no secret the Big Ten is continuing to court the Irish.

I don't see enough TV sets (or influential alums) there to create a BCS league. Unlike conference composition, BCS automatic qualifier status has nothing to do with TV sets.

Our two best seasons were as an independent (75-77). And the stadium was filled for football.

It has been beaten to death but if B12 is left with 5 teams they will not be able to keep their AQ status and they will not be able to keep the name B12. I don't understand L.A. Aztec. I need a better choice. But SDSU has to much to offer to get shafted. Are recruiting area alone is worth its wait in gold, not to mention the TV market.

I still think Fresno State would be a great addition.
