It's all about seeding now. If YBU starts off in the Denver pod they will be very difficult to beat at 5,200 feet. They will have a short trip to Denver & if they are matched up with sea level opponents they will advance. JMO

Bias aside I agree with Katz. Jimmer is great and having player of his talent level can help BYU beat teams that are better than the Cougs. However, having to rely on one player for so much of their scoring also leaves BYU much more vulnerable to an early upset. I won't be surprised if BYU makes it to the elite 8 or gets clipped on the first weekend.

We've shown that we can win even when we don't shoot the ball well. That will be huge in March. If Jimmer has one bad night, BYU will go down.

But BYU scored more points per possession against UCLA than then they did against the Aztecs. Against UCLA: 51 FGA 31 FTA that is about 66 possessions. They scored 79 points. Against the Aztecs: 56 FGA 19 FTA that is about 64 possessions. They scored 71 points. 19 turnovers and 10 missed free throws is what lost the UCLA game. Against the Aztecs, BYU had 7 turnovers and 3 missed free throws. UCLA turned Fredette over 8 times. The Aztecs turned him over 4 times and there was a couple of other times we poked the ball out from behind and fouls were called. Those were close to turnovers instead of free throws. Little things like that make a big difference.

JMO You make a very good point about Denver (they are a lock to play there) and add the fact that they will have a lot of fans travel to game and they will be the highest seed in their 'pod' - they have no excuses for not makeing the Sweet 16.
