Current SDSU Record 20-1 Predicted 1/29/2011 vs. Wyoming* W 2/2/2011 at Colorado State* W 2/5/2011 vs. TCU* W 2/8/2011 vs. Utah* W 2/12/2011 at UNLV* W 2/16/2011 vs. New Mexico* W 2/19/2011 at Air Force* W 2/26/2011 vs. Brigham Young* 3/1/2011 at Wyoming* 3/5/2011 vs. Colorado State*
Current BYU Record 20-1 Predicted 1/29/2011 New Mexico W 2/2/2011 Wyoming W 2/5/2011 UNLV W 2/9/2011 Air Force W 2/12/2011 Utah W 2/19/2011 TCU W 2/23/2011 Colorado State W 2/26/2011 San Diego State 3/2/2011 New Mexico 3/5/2011 Wyoming Could it be a matchup of two 27-1 teams? It has always been said that if you are going to lose, lose early! So all of the frustration and disappointment could be forgotten on Feb 26 and if both teams can win out until the meeting.....that would make the game at Viejas the biggest ever in the city of San Diego in any sport at any time.
Talk about bandwagoners! I would love to see the Bandwagon fill up for the Feb 26 game and keep going until the Final Four! It is not that far of a reach. (Final Four, maybe a reach), but going into the BYU game 27-1 is very possible.
Take it one game at a time, but don't forget the feeling last Wednesday come February!
Am I missing something?

SDSU is predicted to lose at UNLV by kenpom.com (but only by 1 point, so it is a toss-up). Yes it is possible but I predict both teams lose 1 game each before then - so 26-2 vs. 26-2 which both teams still in the top 10.

Could be. But the away games at CSU and UNLV are not gimmies. We were lucky at home against UNLV - they had good shots but couldn't hit anything and will likely play a lot better at home.

Biggest hurdles are likely BYU @ UNM this weekend, and SDSU @ UNLV on 2/12. We can't overlook @ CSU though, and UNLV would like to give BYU payback for beating the Rebs in LV.
But... yes, 27-1 x 2 is a possibility. However, one step at a time. Hopefully the team responds to the loss by becoming even more focused and hungry.

This is why the loss at Provo wasn't a killer. A loss at Gonzaga woulda been. That game got us over the hump and into the national spotlight. Had we lost in the Kennel, we'd have been ranked somewhere between 12 and 15 going into Provestan. After the loss in Provo, we'd have been back to between 18 and 20.
Instead, if both teams are able to run the table until late Feb., the rematch in Viejas will be even bigger than the first game. It'll be on CBS national. The hype will be stratospheric. It'll be Ali-Frazier II. And when we win, we'll be a clear No. 1 seed team.

I'm most concerned about the Colorado State game on the road. Last week I watched BYU play a damn near PERFECT game against CSU in their house and still won by just 8 or 9 points. That will be a very tough game for us next Wednesday.

The Rams are very tough.

We would both be in the Top 5 if we don't lose again. It would be a legendary rematch to be shown on national TV at "our house."
I can't wait, although I still want the Borg to lose at New Mexico.

Possible for the Aztecs, not possible for YBU after New Mexico.
