“There is no excuse to let Jimmer Fredette come in here and score 28 points. That's impossible.”
Still makes me smile when I think back to it.
That said, as a Cougar fan I must say much respect should go to SDSU's team. You have some great players and a fantastic coach. After his Michigan stint I had questions about Fisher, but the way he has built up the Aztec program from ashes has made me a true believer.
I truly believe that the MWC has four of the classiest and most talented coaches out there in Fisher, Miles, Kruger and Rose. It's hard not to admire these coaches, and by extension their teams.
Anyways, that was an epic game last night. I'm looking forward to another legendary one in Viejas in a month. Not so sure the Cougars will be so lucky then, however.

That quote makes me smile too.
Congrats on the win last night.

Remember when LaVelle Edwards said, "We've spent all summer game-planning for Marshall Faulk. He's not going to come to Provo and beat us."? And then Faulk went off for 298 yards and four TDs?
I still smile when I think about that.

Remember when Chad Bunn said, "Ooh. Don't let the ref see that angle." ?
Still cracks me up when I think about it.

Remember when Tony Gwynn set the SDSU all-time, single-game assist record against Danny Ainge in 1980?
Makes me smile to think about it.

Lo posted on FB yesterday that Jimmer is a "beast".
I don't think anyone (including the Zoobs) would have thought he'd be what he is today.

Remember when Gwynn called Ainge a "crybaby" and the nickname stuck throughout Ainge's career?
Makes me smile to think about it.

Remember when Danny Ainge tried to be like Tony Gwynn and play baseball only to learn that he sucked at it?
Makes me smile to think about it.

Do I remember it? I was there and watched Faulk do his thing at what was then still called Cougar Stadium. It's seared into my memory.
It seemed like BYU got their hands on him in the backfield almost every play and he still gained what seemed like a minimum of 5 yards by just falling forward. To this day I don't think I've seen anything like it.
Yeah, I had to pick my jaw up off of the ground after that game and it made me a Faulk fan in the NFL.

Remember when two BYU students took a trip to Yellowstone park and shared the same tent -- and then the park ranger saw a BYU sticker on their car, called the school and got the guy and his co-ed girlfriend kicked out of the university, but not before making national news?
Makes me smile to think about it.

He's currently the general manager of the Celtics. I think most people would agree he's done a pretty good job putting that team together, much better job than he did striking out for the Blue Jays.

Because that team had Lee Cummard and Tavanari and Miles and Jimmer was only a sophomore. People didn't know what he could do at the time. Maybe BYU fans did. But the rest of hte country had yet to see how dominant he could be.

with all this talk, just think that if Kawhi actually stayed for his senior season, he would be getting even more hype than Jimmer is....

Remember when THE CHEATERS decided to go indy, thinking that would be a good move for their football program? I still smile when I think about it.

Remember when THE CHEATERS decided to go indy, thinking that would be a good move for their football program? I still smile when I think about it. You are truly delusional if you think BYU has any sway whatsoever with the MWC. They couldn't cheat if they wanted to. Virtually the same exact replay error you incessantly whine about happened to BYU versus Utah, the only real difference being that it actually would have made the difference in that game. SDSU had plenty of time and opportunities to beat BYU after the fumble replay controversy. They weren't able to do it. Bad calls happen, you just have to learn to deal with it (i.e. that goal tend non-call from last night). As to going Indy, BYU will get a lot more exposure and money, but will miss playing SDSU and Air Force. They won't miss playing UNM, UNLV or Wyoming. They also won't miss that moron, Hair, who basically drove BYU out of the league. He is willing to give Nevada and Fresno St. every financial break he was unwilling to give BYU. What a financial genius.

Well, you certainly could have fooled us about the pull that BYWHO has with the MWC, since you think you are the MWC, and the stupid MNT. was started because and caters to BYU. You say that you will miss playing SDSU...funny, as fans, we won't miss BYU.
